Past Performances
31 March 2007 - Open Connect, Lilian Baylis Theatre
'Flatshare', choreographed by Christina Houghton in collaboration with Cloud Dance
While housesitting, four characters attempt to create a house environment in their own way. A weatherlady predicts a storm on the horizon, as the behavour of the paranoid occupants create a homelife that is far from ordinary.
Flatshare is a contemporary dance theatre piece built on movement phrases based on each character's interaction and interplay with each other in typical (and atypical) flatsharing scenes.
24 June - Cloud Dance Festival: Fly By Night, Chisenhale Dance Space
'A Thousand Conversations (only a hundred conversations as we didn't have as much time)', choreographed by Dana Kolesarova.
Do not speak unless you can improve the silence. Or why so many attempts to communicate are nullified by saying too much.
'How I Survived Borscht', choreographed by Amandine Vighi
How I survived borscht?
Def:
1. borscht-vegetable soup usually including beetroot.
2. The discarded soup I made for you. It is finished.
Crying, bleeding and irony for an intimate cooking session or a witches circle?
8 September - Cloud Dance Festival: After the festivals are over..., Siobhan Davies Studios
'Run!', choreographed by Katie Thies Dance Theatre
Run! is a short, pure-movement contemporary dance piece influenced by the extreme street sports of free running and parkour. This piece examines the art of running and explores the fastest way to get from point A to B...over...under...around. Run! plays with the contrasting ideas of efficiency and aesthetics in urban movement to create an entertaining, high energy piece. Enjoy!
'The Party', choreographed by Freefall Physical Theatre
This is a work about the memory of a party you once had. First it comes in bits, then flashes, and then you get that sinking feeling that you did something you'll regret, but can't remember.
The party looks at how people deal with fun, hilarity, and the pursuit of happiness.
'Innocence Bound', choreographed by Silversmith Dance Company
Cloud Dance and Silversmith Dance Company have collaborated to create an exciting and fresh piece of expressive dance which explores the different female characters and archetypes as victim, sexual predator and murderer with qualities of vulnerability, fragility, madness and irrationality.
These are exposed by five dancers in this dark and occasionally comical ensemble work.
9 December - Cloud Dance Festival: A Quiet Affair
Two pieces, choreographed by Melody Squire and Deima Prismantaite.
