Chantal Guevara (Mexican / German)
Chantal finally started dancing in 1995, immediately before and after starting
her studies at UCL’s Institute of Archaeology, having responded badly to ballet
as a child. She has since trained at The Place's Evening School and JWAAD
(Egyptian Dance) as well as in a wide range of other styles (including in
Marseille, Dublin and Guatemala), while she worked as a belly dancer and a
dancer on London's acoustic music circuit. Being rather accident-prone, and a
workaholic, there have been extended periods of time when she has been unable
to attend class - and indeed rehearsals.
Angele Spiteri Paris (Malta)
Angele began her ballet training at age 3 and went on to take the Royal Academy of Dance exams from Grade one to Intermediate Foundation.
She then began her contemporary and jazz training with Janet Vella (www.myspace.com/janetvella) and took part in numerous performances including a main part in the jazz ballet 'Once Upon a Time'.
Angele is currently a marketing executive at an asset management firm and was a journalist for four years.
Anna Kamau-Woodyard
Since graduating from the Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts in 1998, Anna has been working as a professional dancer on a number of cruise ships and at several hotels, and has gained experience in many different styles of dance and performance settings.
In recent years however, her drive to dance professionally has decreased, so she's been mixing periods of dance work with office work with the aim of….eventually… finding a new career path.
Currently she is working at a full time admin job in the City but has itchy feet to embark on a new creative project. She is looking forward to the opportunity to gain more experience in the contemporary field and be part of more organic, creative work as a change from the more commercial side of the dance world.
Atlanta Eke (Australia)
Atlanta is a UK Based, Australian independent dance artist. Her specific artistic interests are in dance practice, performance and exploring new and innovative choreographic techniques.
In addition to being an experienced dance teacher, she has also performed and choreographed extensively since graduating from Deakin University, and joined Cloud Dance soon after moving to London late last summer.
Bronwen Wilson
Bronwen trained at the Academy for Performing Arts Hong Kong in contemporary dance and did an MA in Acting at East 15 Acting School. After attempting a career in the theatre, she gave it up to work at Hackney City Farm as their Livestock and Education worker.
Edyth (Eddie) Cormack
Eddie started dancing at an early age and has trained in
various forms of dance, including jazz, ballet, tap and contemporary.
In 2002/2003, she took a year out from her studies to work
as a professional dancer. She performed as a dancer in the "WoW" show
in Eilat, Israel and then did a summer season in Crete, Greece with Premiere
Productions as a dancer and singer. Prior to that, she performed in and
choreographed for various dance and musical productions at the Bloomsbury Theatre,
London, including the 2001 production of Sweet Charity.
After her adventures abroad, Eddie returned to England to
qualify as a solicitor, however, she still continues to take regular jazz and
contemporary classes alongside being involved in Cloud Dance.
Emily Jameson
Emily trained at the London College of Dance, and is
currently doing her MA in Arts Management at City Uni, while working for the
ENO.
Holly Warren
Holly graduated from London Contemporary Dance School in 2005, and has since built a career in teaching dance to children.
She is working as a freelance community dance artist and choreographer at the moment and have been working with small companies on independant projects for Kush dance company and present state dance.
Justine McLucas (Australia)
Formerly a professionally trained ballerina, Justine is passionate about all forms of dance and artisitc expression and loves to try anything new. Her desire to try everything and succeed goes much further than just the arts - take a look at what she's been up to since leaving the Hamburg Ballet School: she took a few years out to attain a degree in Anthropology & Asian Studies, studied Thai language in a university near Bangkok, travelled to Everest Base Camp and was chosen to meet His Holiness the Dalai Lama. She has been working in finance in Australia & UK in between her other endeavours, and is currently a collateral analyst for a leading Investment Bank in London, whilst still supporting her first love - Dance - having branched out into many other disciplines in recent years, such as acrobatic pole dancing, commercial jazz and hip hop! She is currently studying to teach Dance as a gym instructor and looking to continue performing as long as her body will allow!!
Kylie Valentine
Kylie is 19 years old. She graduated from the Brit School of Performing Arts last may after studying Musical theatre for two years.
She has taken a year a out, and went to Los Angeles to record some music; she is now looking to join a dance company as a full-time commitment.
She's been dancing since the age of four and was awarded the title of South of England Ballet Champion at the age of 9.
She has trained in Ballet, jazz and tap, those three being her main focuses in dance....but at the Brits she had many contemporary classes which she absolutely loved.
Laryssa Edwards (USA)
Laryssa recently moved to the UK from Southern California where she double majored in Modern Dance and Advertising at Chapman University. She been involved in many concerts and modern dance companies the past four years ... and has been dancing all in all for the past 14 years!
Lottie Lyle
Lottie trained at De Montfort University, however she also
trained at the Royal Ballet School and RAD (part-time) prior to that. She was
part of the National Youth Ballet, which included some TV performances. She now
teaches GCSE and A-level dance.
Melissa Belcher
Melissa trained at Central school of Ballet (part time) before gaining a ballet scholarship at The Urdang Academy. Melissa is thrilled to be dancing in a Contemporary dance Company as this has always been her passion.
Vida Harrison
Vida studied Dance at Roehampton University and then went on to spend some time at Laban to study her professional diploma. She founded, performed in and directed her own company in 2006-2007 with two others and has worked in community dance and arts since.
